Celebrating Valentine’s Day Tablescape

valentine tablescape0107
With February just around the corner, it’s not too early to start thinking of how you will celebrate Valentine’s Day.

valentine tablescape0101
Restaurants will be crazy busy…
valentine tablescape0106
…particularly since this year Valentine’s Day lands on a Friday.
valentine tablescape0104
Rather than…
valentine tablescape0102
…fighting all of those crowds…
valentine tablescape0113
…and overpriced menus…
valentine tablescape0103
…why not celebrate in the comfort of your own home?
valentine tablescape0105
If you don’t feel like cooking…
valentine tablescape0109
…take out will work just fine.
valentine tablescape0118
It’s your choice as to who is invited to your celebration….
valentine tablescape0110
…but I like to include the whole family.

I recently purchased the Ikat runner on sale at C Wonder. The Baccarat candlestick holders were a wedding gift over 25 years ago! It’s good to pull those treasures out. The little heart bowls are from The Pottery Barn Outlet.

valentine tablescape0116 These heart shaped dinner plates are from HomeGoods a few years back, while the placemats were a recent HomeGoods purchase.

The totally fun flatware is by Towel.

Oh my heart shape spoon! I love that. I am with you on celebrating at home, where love really resides. That's the way we have always celebrated, even before the kids. Enjoy!

We always stay home for V-day for many of the reasons you mentioned, and also because like you said, I want to include everyone. I make a red meal-- spaghetti, salad topped with strawberries with a raspberry vinaigrette, and red 7-Up for the kids. And something chocolate for dessert, of course! One year we had chocolate fondue and that was a hit. Since it's on a Friday this year I might just make the effort to do that again. Love your table-- it's so fun to make meals beautiful.

What a beautiful tablescape. Everything is so perfect and your right about staying home. Your not getting rushed by the restaurant to hurry up you've stayed to long and we need to turn the table. Don't you hate that. So unromantic.
I have the same candle holders, don;t you just love them. I have had mine for that long also.
Have a great weekend.

I love that ikat runner! It looks great with the heart mats and all your lovely red and white pieces. We always stay home for Valentines Day, worst night ever to go out! Plus it's my son's birthday so it's a family time for us~Let me know if you ever get tired of that runner :)

Cute, lovely and so sweet.

I will definitely stay home just the two of us if our son and his gf who is preggy come and join.

But, in Sweden, this is not celebrated as I wish. So, I will be visiting the homes for some tips to have a romantic day with hubby.

Fact is, we will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary on the 25th.

Happy weekend.

LOVE this LOVE-ly table! I'm wild over your red martini glasses. They are just over-the-top!

I don't like to go out on Valentine's day... I don't think the food is as good. Setting a great table and doing take out is a brilliant idea!

Oh I adore your heart shaped spoons! We always stay in for Valentine's, it's too crowded and pricey. Take out is an excellent idea :)

Wow I love that table runner and those heart shaped dishes! I don't know if we'll go out. Our area isn't too bad for dining, but sometimes it's nice to just kick back and be home.
