Seasonal Sundays # 107 – Fourth of July

Seasonal Sunday Teapot copy

Welcome to Seasonal Sundays.

Fourth of July 046

What are your plans for the Fourth of July?

Fourth of July 038

Unfortunately the holiday seems to take a lesser turn when the fourth is on a Wednesday.

Fourth of July 030

It doesn’t make for a three or four day holiday, but none the less, it is an important one.

Fourth of July 048

The celebration of our INDENDENCE!

 Fourth of July 052

We are truly blessed to live in this wonderful country.

Fourth of July 026

I love the symbolism of my friend’s flag pole, with the flag of the United States of American at the top, followed by the flags of their heritage.

Fourth of July 065

Perhaps my nephew’s favorite brand of shirt sums it up best.

Fourth of July 013

So, what are your plans?

The British are not coming

Elegant Independance 055

Welcome to The Tablescaper.

Elegant Independance 114

The British are not coming, in fact they’re not even invited, to this celebration of Paul Revere.

Elegant Independance 110

"If the British march

Elegant Independance 055
By land or sea from the town to-night,
Elegant Independance 088

Hang a lantern aloft in the belfry arch

Elegant Independance 109
Of the North Church tower as a signal light,--
Elegant Independance 117

One if by land,

Elegant Independance 069

and two if by sea;

Elegant Independance 060
And I on the opposite shore will be,

Elegant Independance 079
Ready to ride and spread the alarm

Elegant Independance 057
Through every Middlesex village and farm,

Elegant Independance 064
For the country folk to be up and to arm."

Elegant Independance 091

Elegant Independance 092  Christmas Tree purchase several years ago.

Elegant Independance 096

Elegant Independance 098 Love these! Only wish I could find more. The deep red is beautiful.

Pewter chargers purchased on clearance in NYC quite a number of years ago.

Pause a moment, for Paul Revere.

It Takes a Village

During Tea 118

Welcome to The Tablescaper, as I continue my tour of tables prepared for the Senior Citizen Tea presented by our school district (click HERE for full story).

Senior Tea 2012 159

I pulled together all of my house like dishware for a table that was a perfect theme to pull together the various age groups of our community.

During Tea 114

It takes a village!

During Tea 118

I brought this adorable teapot back from a vacation in Bermuda. Love those tile roofs.

During Tea 120

Even this mini mug had a “house” theme to it.

During Tea 115f

I purchased this tea pot a couple of years ago at a tag sale. Much to my surprise, inspection of it’s underside revealed it was originally purchased at Walmart!

During Tea 119

I am such a house person, so it was fun to pull out bits of my collection to adorn this table.

During Tea 122

The salt and pepper shakers were from a little touristy shop in South Beach,Florida. I had to have them as they reflected the art deco style of the area perfectly. The little creamer is vintage.

It took a village to present and enjoy our tea!

I’m joining Terri at Artful Affirmations for Tea Time Tuesday; Martha at Martha’s Favorites for Tea Cup Tuesday; Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage for Tea Time Tuesday; Marty at A Stroll Through Life for Tabletop Tuesday;Uncommonly Yours at Uncommon Designs.

Seasonal Sundays # 106 - A Burst of Blue

Seasonal Sunday Teapot copy
Welcome to Seasonal Sundays.
May 249
Well, I knew it wouldn’t last long.
May 274
As you may recall, when I unveiled my dining room makeover…
May 240
I had my corner cabinet filled will all white.
May 256
Many shades and patterns, but still all white.
May 242
Well, I’m a COLOR girl, so I knew the all white wouldn’t last long.
May 257
I was recently in a local consignment shop and spotted quite a bit of blue glass.
May 262
Blue glass of the same shade as a small collection I had amassed through the years.
May 252
Well, this blue hob nail vase that was in my collection…
May 254
…now had a slightly milkier mate.
May 279

And this ruffled hob nail…
May 246
…suddenly had a mate as well.
May 264
I certainly couldn’t leave this sweet hob nail creamer and sugar behind.
May 238
Whenever I add to any collection, the question always becomes, where am I going to put it? Well, the answer suddenly became abundantly clear. The all white cabinet needed a burst of BLUE!
So what have you been up to?
